Inspired by the yellow Aspen. Specks of autumnal yellow and gold bring glimpses of sunshine, hoping for a bright autumnal day.
This mosaic is my take on the Aspen Tree. It consists of dried log bark cut and shaped along with slate and tesserae. The tesserae consist of smalti and gold glass. Each piece is cut by hand and added to a pigmented adhesive.
The mosaic has been embedded into a deep box wooden frame.
