The world isn’t flat, or straight or uncurved. It is full of lumps and bumps, the rise and fall in waves of motion. Often, the artwork comes from deep within the soul, when I am in a very quiet internal space, present with the stones.
This mosaic has been made on a handmade substrate which has been shaped and curved to add texture and flow.
It is made with slate, stone, ceramic and glass tile and pieces of gold glass. Each piece of glass and tile has been cut by hand. The slate and stone were collected locally in Ireland.
